Sucker Born Every Minute

The New Pleasure Pier opened on Galveston’s Seawall on Memorial day weekend.

It is different from the Kemah  Boardwalk, The Santa Monica Pier or the Atlaantic City Boardwalk.  They charge $10 bucks for the privilege walking  on the pier. Yet the crowds still came.

Hey, Murdock’s doesn’t charge to go out on their pier.

More to the point, you’re paying for the privilege of spending your dollars – and lets not forget the parking at ten bucks, or the traffic problems, excess police needed last weekend and the general congestion which is going to ensue.

And remember, that 10 dollars is for “walk on” only. A family of 4 going for the afternoon and enjoying the rides will be paying around 100 bucks before they buy a soda or a hot dog.

They say this is “good” for the Island? We’ll see.

Gullible people being talked into spending their money on something completely worthless and thinking its something amazing? Say it ain’t so! When I heard about this, the only thought that crossed my mind is, “Since only idiots would take to this pier, we could assume these are the same people who voted Obama”. And thats why I avoided Galveston Island Memorial Day weekend.
