Obama’s Ghraib

A story of Murder innocent tribesmen by an Army squad that called themselves the “Kill Team” goes strangely unnoticed by the mainstream press. The Story complete with 4000 photos, doesn’t seem to have the outrage  that the Abu Ghraib story did.   The difference is of course was at Abu Graib Iraqi pride and feelings were hurt, and pictures were taken of men in awkward poses.

The “Kill Team” is accused of premeditated murder, and of men posing with the deceased bodies.

This week, the German news magazine Der Spiegel published three photographs said to show two U.S. soldiers accused of being part of a rogue “kill team” last year during their tour in Afghanistan. Perhaps the most damaging image appears to show Spc. Morlock smiling as he lifts the head of a dead, bloodied Afghan man.

A court-martial is schedued to start Wednesday for Spc. Morlock, 22, of Wasilla, Alaska. He is one of 12 soldiers charged with an array of offenses stemming from an incident last year when the Army says three Afghan civilians were murdered by members of the 5th Stryker Brigade operating in the Maiwand district of Kandahar Province.

Maybe its just been a busy news cycle, with the Japanese earthquake, tsunami disaster, coupled with the attack on Libya ,  Or maybe folks are reluctant to call attention to the problems of Obama’s war.
