We live in Strange Times.

Never Thought I would see the Day

The  ultraconservative CPAC  convention is sponsored by the conservative gay rights organization GOPRoud. and held a great big party to celebrate.  While some stayed home in a huff. The up and coming Tea Party people such as Sarah Palin, and Michelle Bachman were in attendance in support.  Providing modest proof that the Tea Parties are more about Libertarianism than Conservatism.  They just don’t know it yet. The idea that a community of of gay and lesbians could swing to the right is troublesome to some leftists. Christopher Barron explains how gay leftists and rightists differ in approach.

”The problem is that the gay left has decided what qualifies as pro-gay and what qualifies as anti-gay, and a whole bunch of the stuff that they think qualifies as pro-gay, I don’t think has anything to do with being pro-gay,” says Barron. ”And, a whole bunch of stuff that they think is anti-gay, I don’t think is anti-gay at all.”

What if we accept gay’s and allow them to get married?  Will this mean that will will have to accept and tolorate robot- to human mariages?

In a case of life imitating “Futurama,” Maryland’s gay-marriage debate has somehow morphed into worries about robot-human marriages.

The rant against robosexuals came during Robert Broadus’ testimony against the gay-marriage legislation currently before Maryland legislature. “If you pass this bill, you will set the groundwork, that one day when artificial intelligence is that advanced, we will be considering whether or not people can marry their androids. … If you say that any two people who love each other can get married, then you set that precedent,” said Broadus, who heads Protect Marriage Maryland.

To make his case, Broadus referred to Lieutenant Commander Data’s ability to feel emotion and shed a tear in “Star Trek: Generations,” a science-fiction movie. “You laugh, but it’s true,” Broadus said.
