An era of Grope and Change

I thought I pretty much said all I have to say about the TSA Groopefest in the news,  Its pretty clear that Drudge won’t let it go, at least not yet. He perhaps deserves  the credit or blame for the story being in the forefront.

But while this rebellion has long been bubbling below the surface, one wonders if it have ever come to the forefront without Matt Drudge.   My guess is, it would not have — at least, not yet.

Of course, as the TSA rebellion illustrates, Drudge remains incredibly powerful and uniquely important.

Drudge isn’t the only beneficiary of the TSA groping, some people seem to like it

SEAN HANNITY, HOST: “Did they touch your body parts?”

GLORIA ALLRED: “Yeah, they did and it was a first time anybody touched them in a long time and frankly, I liked it.”

Allred is an attorney who was recently in the news for representing Meg Whitman’s former housekeeper.

Ms. Allred, might be one of these people who will be opting outing out of the backscatter scans to get her thrill. The folks getting the their genitals feltup aren’t the only ones complaining. The TSA gropers don’t like the way we, the public, are treating them.

“Molester, pervert, disgusting, an embarrassment, creep. These are all words I have heard today at work describing me. …These comments are painful and demoralizing,” one unnamed TSO posted on Frischling’s website.

Another said: “Being a TSO means often being verbally abused. You let the comments roll off and check the next person; however, when a woman refuses the scanner then comes to me and tells me that she feels like I am molesting her; that is beyond verbal abuse.”

“I have encountered a few TSA transportation security officers that have the ‘We’re keeping people safe’ attitude,” said Frischling, “But when you ask them about specific aspects of the TSA’s policy or procedure, they backpedal a bit and admit there are problems.”

Reminds me of the German detention camp guards complaining that the Jews don’t respect them.  My advice to them is “Quit!” your job is immoral, you are gropers and child molestors.  Just because the government pays you doesn’t make it anything else.

Glenn Reynolds notes:

“Your papers, please” is disturbing, but “your testicles, please” is worse. . . . .

Some folks are expecting tomorrow, the day before Thanksgiving to be a horror show because of protesters opting out of the backscatter scans.  I don’t believe that people rushing home for the Holiday will be to much in the mood to pass on a quick backscatter nudey scan for the even more intrusive grope.
